1. Both Selfe and Yancey discuss the ways in which both income and racial disparity greatly impact one's access to technology. As a future instructor, what are some ways in which you could help students who do not have as much experience with technology as some others? Do you think that this is an issue beyond the writing center's control or do you believe that the writing center could play an integral role in helping those who grew up impacted by the lack of funding for persons of color and lower income areas?
2. Tobin discusses what changes in his approach to teaching helped completely change the dreary dynamic of his classes. If you have instructed a class before, what changes in your approach did you find positively impacted your classroom's environment? If you have not, what approaches have your past instructors taken that positively and/or negatively impacted the vibes of the classroom? In looking at your past instructor's classroom habits, what would you do the same? Differently?

Raquel, what a great question regarding lack of funding and how we can help at the writing center. Something that is free and open-to-all the writing center is a great way to, for lack of a better term, level the playing field where all students can get the help they need.
