Hi everyone and good evening!
1) There are so many terms that became more complicated for me by scholars' descriptions from the Bazerman reading, “Writing Speaks to Situations through Recognizable Forms.” That was really cool to see. So, considering key terms, how was the concept of "genre" complicated for you? Or, conversely, if not, how does it remain similar to ways you have considered "genre" before in Composition?
2) In a different way, the term "multimodal" was described more simply: “Thus, all writing is multimodal (New London Group 1996)” (42). In what ways do you consider yourself a multimodal writer?
Welcome! This blog acts as a space for you to critically reflect on the readings and better absorb the material, and it puts you in conversation with your peers about their understanding of the material. Directions: 1: Create a new post where you will raise two questions about the readings that you would like your peers to engage with. 2: Reply to one peer's post as a comment and attempt to answer one of their posted questions. Blog posts are due by 8pm the night before class.

In response to your second question, I think that I am a multimodal writer in that I use a variety of mediums when working on a particular project. For instance, when I write a paper I typically use pen and paper and then use a digital word processor later on in my writing process. However, if we also view intertextuality as a form of multimodal writing, then really everything that I write is multimodal. In this comment, for instance, I am using Blogger as a primary medium, but my response is being influenced by the readings that we did for class.
